Youth Group invites you to a meditation on
the Stations of the Cross in the
church.

Patrick’s Day Dinner/Dance and
Raffle
We
invite everyone to join us at our annual
St.Patrick’s
Day
Dinner/Dance
this Saturday, March 8th at 6:30pm in the
cafeteria. Dinner tickets cost $20 for
adults and $10 for children (under 12
years). Also, we are selling $100 raffle
tickets for a chance at winning
$5,000!!
Dinner tickets and raffle tickets are
available at the Parish Office

to our parishioners Vince and Erma Brogan
for being recognized as the longest
married couple attending the
Archdiocese’s Anniversary Mass on
February 9th. They celebrated 67 years of

Epiphany
School’s Open House
There
will be an
Open
House
for prospective families to learn about
Epiphany School on Sunday, March 9th
beginning at 2:30pm in the school
cafeteria. Come meet the teachers,
students, administration, and parents and
find out more about the school’s
program. Applications will be available
for the 2008-2009 school year. Come enjoy
refreshments and participate in a
raffle.

Would

Archdiocese of San Francisco offers
support for the journey.There is one on
the Peninsula at St. Bartholomew Parish

the parish hall of St. Stephen (near

Reflections
GOSPEL:
John 9:
1,6-9,13-17,34-38
John’s story of the man born blind
weaves together the themes of light,
sight, and insight. Jesus heals the man so
that he can see. However, the Pharisees
remain blind because they refuse to see
who Jesus really is. They are more
concerned about the Sabbath laws than they
are about a fellow human being in need.
The blind man gains not only his sight but
also insight. When Jesus identifies
himself as the Son of Man, a title for the
Messiah, the man says, “I do believe,
Lord.” And he worships Jesus. As we
worship Jesus in the Eucharist, our eyes
are opened to see Christ in
others.
1.) The
first verse of the hymn “Amazing
Grace” reminds us of this gospel
passage. Why? Here are the
words:
- Amazing
grace, how sweet the
sound
- That
saved a wretch like me.
- I
once was lost but now I’m found,
- Was
blind but now I see.
2.) Who
are the “truly blind” people in
this gospel story? How can you keep from
going through life “blind” to
the reality of Jesus and his love in your
life? How will you stay alert to really
see and care for those who need
Jesus’ healing
touch?
