How Did
you hear the Good News
Today?
Television,
radio, newspapers, magazines, the
Internetall are places people go to
get news and entertainment. But what do we
get, exactly, when we turn on the
the tube or log on to the
Internet? As a result of your support of
the CATHOLIC COMMUNICATION CAMPAIGN (CCC),
Catholics and all media consumers have
increased opportunities to find
Gospel-grounded messages and resources to
strengthen their families and their faith.
Please contribute generously to CCC in
todays collection, half of our
donations received will remain in our
(arch)diocese to fund local Catholic
communication efforts. Visit
CathloicCommunicationCampaign.org
for national program information. Thank
you for your generous response.

Reflections
GOSPEL:
John 6:51-58
Todays reading takes place the day
after Jesus has miraculously fed five
thousand people with only five loaves and
two fish. Now he wants the crowds to
understand that he has come to give them
the living bread. Earthly
bread, even manna, can only keep us alive
for a time. But it cannot give us eternal
life. Only Jesus himself, the Bread of
Life, can do that. As Catholics, our
greatest prayer of thanks is the Mass.
Jesus is truly present in the Eucharist.
When we receive Communion, we say Amen;
that is, we believe that the bread and
wine are now the Body and Blood of
Christ.
1.)
When the priest or Eucharistic minister
says to you, The Body of
Christ, what does it mean to you to
say Amen before receiving
Communion? How can you make your
Amen a statement of faith and
conviction?
2.)
Sometimes, in the comings and goings of
everyday life, do you ever think of
eternal life?
