Thank
You!
We want
to thank all our parishioners who have
already contributed to our new 2009
Archbishops Annual Appeal. This year
our assigned goal is $87,800.00. If you
did not receive a brochure in the mail,
please pick one up at any entrance of the
church. We would like to encourage
everyone to consider what he/she can
contribute, whether it is a one-time gift
or a pledge over 12 months. This Appeal is
important to many ministries and services
that serve thousands of people. Please be
as generous as possible. Again, many
thanks to all for your continued
support.
Whoever
does the will of God, is my brother,
sister and mother. -Mark 3:35

Reflections
GOSPEL:
Mark 1:29-39
Mark describes for us how
Jesus day begins and ends with
taking care of others. He heals
Simons mother-in-law, he cures
others who are sick, he drives out demons
from those who are possessed. He comforts
the downhearted and discouraged. The
crowds follow him wherever he goes. Even
when he goes off to a lonely place to pray
and be renewed, Jesus is tracked down by
his disciples who say, Everybody is
looking for you! Without complaint,
Jesus responds at once by heading for the
nearby villages to heal and preach and
comfort.
1.) When you are busy or tired, how
do you respond to family members who want
your help or attention?
2.) Why is it sometimes hard for us
to respond to others needs?
3.) Who or what can remind us to be
more loving and patient with others around
us?
4.) When you hear about people who
are sick, lonely, or discouraged, what do
you do? How do you think todays
gospel story might inspire you to be more
like Jesus?
