Mission Statement: (from the Vincention Vocation portion of the Rule)
“The vocation of the Society’s members, who are called Vincentians, is to follow Christ through service to those in need and so bear witness to His compassion and liberating love. Members show their commitment through person to person contact. Vincentians serve in hope.”
What We Do:
The Saint Vincent de Paul Society assists the poor in Epiphany Parish with food and other assistance. We see Christ in the face our neighbors.
We try to grow in holiness through prayer at our meetings and through our interactions with our neighbor.
Twice a month we bag groceries for those who have been referred to us by the parish. These bags are delivered to parishioners’ homes (about 15 families). The bagging is a volunteer opportunity for those needing volunteer hours!
We offer some emergency assistance with electric and other bills, etc., usually based on home visits.
We also visit Laguna Honda monthly to wheel patients to Mass. Many additional people are needed for this wonderful activity.
Every other month we serve dinner at the St. Vincent de Paul Multi-Service Center-South (MSC-South) downtown.
Once a year we celebrate the month’s birthdays at the MSC-South. We bring gifts and make a party on this day
Along with YAM-E, we wrap and distribute gifts from the giving tree on Christmas.
Special grocery bags are also delivered at Thanksgiving and Christmas time.
If you are in need or know someone in need, contact the parish office. We will need a phone number to contact them.
